Elizabeth Micheel, USA - online coaching - October 2023

I never would have thought I could do live lessons with my instructor an ocean away, but it works! Wendy did a series of virtual lessons with me using Pivo Meet and it really helped me get through a plateau with my horse.  We were progressing through the Straightness Training online academy and submitting videos, but I really struggled to implement the feedback in effective ways. With Wendy’s voice in my ear and the camera running, she was able to coach me through the correct timing and refine my aids.

I would highly recommend virtual lessons as a complement to the online Scholars program! Wendy is phenomenal instructor and able to explain things clearly. She helped me find the results and gain confidence.  Wendy is a fantastic coach!

Karen Massey, UK, face to face coaching - August 2023

Alf hasn’t been the easiest of horse over the years with issues that I came to learn arose from his natural asymmetry. A long interest in classical riding led me tor Straightness Training and to Wendy. What an incredible journey this has now become.Wendy’s knowledge and patience are immense. She has encouraged and challenged me to think for myself, study Straightness Training and read widely. I have grown in confidence – not just with Alf, but in my own development as well. It’s not just about the horse.I would have continued to do what I was doing – with the same results. It is Wendy’s teaching and support that are enabling the true, happy Alf to emerge. The horse that has always been there is shining through. A magnificent partner who can move beautifully and correctly, showing willingness, collection and lightness.

Well ST has been quite the journey for me! It has taken me out of my comfort zone many times over but what is making this journey easier and less stressful is the guidance and encouragement you have provided. I enjoy all our coaching sessions they have been invaluable. Your knowledge and your simple and calm teaching style are greatly appreciated. I have learned and grown that much more under your mentoring.

Jenny Comish - Total Immersion Weekend - August 2019

Lovely, friendly atmosphere. Supportive and non-judgemental fellow students and host. Wendy was very good at spotting how I can improve my work with Stella and especially on how I need to be more of the leader and how to avoid pushiness from starting. Lots of nuances picked up on.

Tessa Stewart - Total Immersion Weekend - August 2019

What an amazing weekend surrounded by like minded people that have enthusiasm. Lots to learn still, but with Wendy’s guidance we can only get better! Wendy, Jo and Sam have been awesome and Merri has settled so well. A massive ‘thank you’ for making us feel so welcome.

Kerry Staudt, the Netherlands - November 2017

I first started my ST journey in 2015, after i got my horse and wanted to work with her in a more understanding and harmonious way. I stumbled upon ST after doing some research online. As I am a hands on learner, I wanted to know if there was any way of having lessons or joining a workshop. That’s when I heard about Wendy Poore. She was offering a workshop not far from where I kept my horse. So I attended her workshop as a spectator and never looked back!!Since then I have taken my horse to one of Wendy’s workshops and she has been to the yard to give me private lessons there. I found Wendy very supportive and she was always there to give me advice and reassurance when I had doubts.I always felt that I could ask Wendy anything and it was never too much trouble to answer my emails, which she did very thoroughly. Her vast knowledge and understanding helped me to understand the whys and hows of not only ST work but of horses in general. This gave me the confidence to go into my Lab and try things out. I have since moved to the Netherlands so I unfortunately can not have lessons with Wendy anymore. We still keep in contact and I still have the feeling that if I needed advice that I could ask.

June Morgan, Blackwood - November 2017

There is a great deal of information in the on line ST course however I do think to make real progress and also if you get "stuck" there is nothing like a pair of experienced eyes to move you on. Wendy quietly guides and coaches you in a very friendly way to make those important 2mm improvements. She is very approachable and pleasant and we also have fun during the lessons. Her grounded calm energy also reflects well on the horses.

Teri Morgan, Bridgend - November 2017

I have found my lessons with Wendy to be of immense value to both myself and my horse. Wendy is approachable, knowledgeable, calm and insightful. She has been extremely helpful and supportive in identifying our underlying needs and in guiding us in finding emotional and physical improvements. Definitely recommended.

Nicola Belfield, Chester - October 2017

I have had a number of lessons with Wendy in the initial stages of my ST journey. She brings a wealth of knowledge, a keen eye, and lots of advice to the lessons, and she makes it fun and relaxed so creating a lovely learning environment. Thank you Wendy - cannot recommend you highly enough.

Geraldine Barker, Abergavenny - October 2017

I have had several very enjoyable lessons with Wendy. She is genuinely interested in you and your horse, no matter what level you are, never makes you feel inadequate, always full of encouragement. She is very hands-on and will step in to demonstrate if you are struggling to communicate the correct cue to your horse. I always see an improvement in myself and my horse at the end of each lesson and feel totally inspired. I highly recommend anyone to have a lesson, it will definitely be time and money well spent.

Denise Jones, Abergavenny - October 2017

My horses and I have regular lessons with Wendy. She always brings out the best in us, identifying the mm changes we need to bring about improvement, we feel supported, encouraged and able to progress between lessons. Our lessons are fun, full of learning and always progressive - in addition, my horses seem to enjoy the lessons as much as me.
